Unpopular Culture

The Mead Gallery at Warwick Arts Centre is currently hosting a touring exhibition. It is a selection from the Arts Council Collection, made by Turner Prize winning artist Grayson Perry. The exhibition features work by Edward Burra, Eduardo Poalozzi, John Piper, Barbara Hepworth, Ruskin Spear and many others. There are two works by Perry himself which are a response to the selection he has made.

Painting, sculpture and photography are all featured, many of which are from the 1950's and 60's. They show the life of ordinary working class Britons, particularly how they spent their newly acquired leisure time.

The exhibition goes on until Saturday 13th March 2010.
