Bridget Riley at The National Gallery

'Bridget Riley - Paintings and Related Work' is a new exhibition at The National Gallery which continues until 22 May 2011. Displayed alongside Riley's colourful, abstract works are the classical paintings from the gallery which have influenced her. Initially this sounds odd, but you can start to see how the compositions, movement and colour of the older paintings link to her's. The BBC website has a slide show and commentary that explains these links in more detail.
