Google Art Project

Recently launched by Google is the Art Project. 17 major art galleries, including the National Gallery and Tate Britain, the Ufizzi in Florence, MoMA in New York, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, have collaborated to create this online resource. You can use Street View technology to virtually explore the galleries, view individual paintings in incredible detail, find out more about the artists and view related videos.

By no means a substitute for visiting the galleries and seeing the artworks in real life, but a fantastic research tool for any art student.
