The 1951 Festival of Britain: A Brave New World

On BBC 2 at 8.15 tonight is a programme about the 1951 Festival of Britain. After the prolonged hardships of WWII and continued rationing, this event promised a future of affordable, colourful and lighthearted design.
Forever associated with the Festival, the designs of Robin and Lucienne Day are even more popular today.
You can catch the programme on iplayer for the next week.
