John Martin at Tate Britain

The work of John Martin, the Victorian painter, was shocking when it was first shown to the public. People were said to have fainted in front of his huge paintings which showed his vision of the end of the world. He is still influencing film directors and games designers today. The 'trailer' advert for the show reflects his lasting legacy.

Starting on the 21st September, Tate Britain is staging 'Apocolypse' the first major exhibition of his work in 30 years. Tickets are £12 for students. Read more about the show on the Tate website.
