Dark Matters

Some of the outstanding works from the 'Dark Matters' exhibition at The Whitworth in Manchester were by Daniel Rozin. His interactive installations, 'Peg Mirror' and 'Snow Mirror' are able to react to the presence of the viewer.
R.Luke DuBois' film 'Kiss' takes clips of iconic movie kisses and reanimates them into a web of sparkling stars.
Chara Lewis, Kristin Mojsiewicz and Anneke Pettican are collectively known as Brass Art. They explore the optical illusion of early cinema techniques with digital technology. Their installation, 'Still Life No.1', consists of a revolving sculpture made of modelled cellophane and figurines. A bright light projects their shadows as a swirling parade of fairy tale imagery onto the walls of the darkened gallery.
