The English Baccalaureate

The new proposed English Baccalaureate qualification threatens to marginalise arts subjects in schools. In this article in The Guardian leading cultural figures such as Antony Gormley, Nicholas Serota (Director of The Tate Gallery), Nicholas Hynter (Director of The National Theatre), Julian Lloyd-Webber and Mark Wallinger talk about how their exposure to the arts at school helped shape and influence them in later life.

This artwork by Bob and Roberta Smith sums up that experience.
